What issues should be paid attention to during the installation of building window film
Environmental conditions
Temperature and humidity: It is best to install architectural window films in an environment with moderate temperature (generally recommended to be between 18 and 27 degrees Celsius) and appropriate humidity (40% to 60%). If the temperature is too high, the glue will dry too quickly, which may cause bubbles to form during the film application process and be difficult to eliminate; if the temperature is too low, the flexibility of the window film will decrease and it will be easy to break. If the humidity is too high, condensation is easy to form on the glass surface, affecting the adhesion of the film; if the humidity is too low, static electricity may be generated, which will absorb dust and make the film surface unclean.
Lighting conditions: Avoid installing window film in direct sunlight. This is because direct sunlight will increase the temperature of the glass, causing the glue of the window film to dry before it is fully attached, thus affecting the pasting effect. At the same time, strong light will make it difficult for construction workers to see the details of the film application process, such as bubbles and wrinkles.
Glass condition
Cleanliness: Before applying the film, the glass must be thoroughly cleaned. Any dust, oil, water stains or other impurities will affect the adhesion between the window film and the glass. After cleaning, do not touch the glass surface with your hands to avoid further contamination.
Glass integrity: Check the glass for cracks, breakage or other defects. If there is a problem with the glass itself, even with window film, it may cause safety hazards such as glass breakage during subsequent use.
Window Film Operation Details
Cutting accuracy: When cutting window film, the size should be appropriate. If the size is too large, it will be difficult to adjust the position during the film application process, and wrinkles will easily appear; if the size is too small, it will not be able to completely cover the glass, affecting the use effect. When cutting, use a sharp knife to ensure that the edges are neat and avoid jagged edges that affect the appearance and fit.
Water spraying and laminating sequence: When spraying water, make sure that the adhesive surface of the window film is evenly moistened and the amount of water should be moderate. Too much water will cause the window film to slide on the glass and be difficult to position; too little water will not provide sufficient lubrication and may cause scratches on the window film during laminating. During laminating, start from one end of the window film and laminate slowly and steadily towards the other end to avoid bubbles. If bubbles are generated, scrape them off from the center to the edge in time with a scraper.
Tips for using a scraper: When using a scraper, use moderate force. If you use too much force, you may scratch the window film; if you use too little force, the air and moisture cannot be effectively expelled. The angle of the scraper is also very important, generally kept at around 30-45 degrees, so that air and moisture can be better expelled and the window film fits tightly to the glass.
Security Question
Safety of construction workers: Construction workers should pay attention to safety when using tools such as knives and heat guns to avoid scratching themselves. When working at heights, they should take safety precautions, such as wearing seat belts.
Building safety: For some special buildings, such as ancient buildings or buildings with special requirements, before installing window film, it is necessary to consider whether it will cause damage to the building itself. For example, the original structure and appearance of the building cannot be destroyed during the installation process.
